Guarantors and Collateral Report

Guarantors are third party persons to a lending transactions who accept to stand in for the borrower in case of default. Collateral are items of security that the borrower pledges to secure the loan and the lender can have recourse to them in case of default.

The Guarantors and Collateral Report will generate details of all those people who accepted to take responsibility of the loans that were applied for as well as the various items that were presented as security for the loans taken.

To get to this screen, you go to menu Loans/Portfolio Reports/Guarantors and Collateral. A screen like one below appears:

•  From Loan number: Enter the Loan number on which you want your guarantors and collateral Report to start in the text box e.g. "UG/003113" and in the "to" text box, enter the loan number on which your report will end e.g. "UG/003131" in the screen above.
• Guarantors: When you check this option, a report on all those people who took responsibility for payment of loans that were issued will be generated. Guarantors are set at Menu Clients/Loan Guarantors.
• From Name: Double click this field to select the client name from which you want a report to start being generated and in the "to" text box the name on which you want your report to end.
• Branch Code: Select a branch for which you want to generate a report. In the example above, we have checked "For all" option to have a report for all branches. Incase you are using a Demo Database, then the default will be DB in the options in the drop down box.
• Credit Officer:  Select from the drop down box a particular credit officer whom you want to generate a report about, this may be to see the guarantors and collateral for the loans which were handled by that credit officer. In the example, the "For all" option is checked, this is in order to have a report on all credit officers who may have handled Loans.
• Loan Fund: From the drop down box, select a particular Loan Fund that you want to generate. Here you just see the guarantors and collaterals for the loans which were issued using that particular fund selected.  The Loan Fund is set at System/Configuration/Funds. In the example, the "For all" option is checked, this is in order to have a report on all the guarantors and collaterals for the loans which were issued using that particular fund selected.
• Geographical Area: From the drop down box, you can select actual locations of the Guarantors and Collateral. For example Districts, County, Sub-County and Parish as specified in your settings under  Support Files/Geographical Area's. In the example in the first screen of this page, the "For all" option is selected in order to have a report on all geographical areas.
• Loan Product: From the drop down box, select a loan Product that you want to generate a report about. The Loan product depends on what was set at Menu System/Configuration/Products. You may have Loan Products like School Fees Loans, Agricultural Loans etc. In the example above, the "For all" option is selected in order to have a report on all Loan Products.
• Business Sector: From the drop down box, select a business sector from which you want to generate a report about. This can be Agriculture, Industry, Services or any other depending on what you set at Menu Support files/Business Sector. In the example above, the "For all" option is selected to have a report of all sectors that were granted loans in the selected period.
• Grouping/Order: Select from the drop down box select how the report to be generated will be classified in the column title/heading. In the example, we select Client Name. The screen from which you select from will look as follows;
• Loan Category 1: From the drop down box, select a classification of a loan that you made at Menu Support Files/Loan Category 1, it may have been a long term loan, short term loan etc. In the example, the "For all" option is checked. The same applies for Loan Category 2 and Loan Category 3.
• Collateral Type: Select a class of items that were used as security for loans from the drop down box. These are set at Menu Support Files/ Loan Guarantee Items.

• Additional filtering options? :  This option is used to get a particular field or specification that you want. It helps you to narrow down the information that you need. When you check this option and click ok, a pop up screen will appear that looks as follows;
• In the screen above, the filter criteria selected is LAMOUNT (Loan Amount) and the relational Operator checked is "=" (the equals symbol). This symbol means the Loan Amount will be equal to the value selected; in this case it is 15,000 which was got from the drop down box. Click the Yes button in the pop up information screen to generate a report.
• When you click yes in the pop up information screen with all the above fields checked, a report will be generated that will look like the following:
• The report generated shows details of the fields that you selected in the additional filter.
• When you do not select the additional filter option, we will continue with the details in the first screen on this page and it will be as follows:
• Detail: Select this option when you want much information about loans guaranteed by guarantors for the selected period. Basing on the options selected in the first screen, you will generate a report that looks as follows:
• Summary: When this option is selected, the Loans Guaranteed by Guarantors Report will still generate a report as the one below:
